TAP safest airline in Europe for 2022. The airline was rated safest in Europe by Airline Ratings. The website publishes its ratings every year and they also have a useful tool where you can compare airlines according to safety ratings. This is a remarkable achievement for TAP, which has been showing its amazing records when it comes to quality, safety and fleet.
According to a Press Release from the airline, Airlines Ratings assesses over 400 companies around the world and evaluates them, according to the number of crashes over 5 years, serious incident record over 2 years, presence of audits both from government and governing and industry bodies, leading safety initiatives, fleet age and Covid safety protocols.
Excellent safety records and a great fleet
TAP’s press release claims Geoffrey Thomas, Editor-in-Chief from AirlineRatings.com, said that Tap has an excellent safety record and that was not a total surprise for him, since the airline not only keeps its fleet young but also they seek the best aircraft. To note that TAP hasn’t had a fatality in the modern era. More recently, and also according to the airline’s press release, TAP has become a benchmark for airline safety and its Covid safe protocols are considered industry-leading.
TAP’s Safety Manager, Gonçalo Nápoles, says this has been a team effort over the years. He also says that every staff member was committed to achieving this recognition and stresses that it is proof that risk management can e done in line with company’s strategy and need for transformation.
TAP is the 5th in the world
The airline was rated the fifth in the world, ahead of airlines like Qantas (rated 7th), Lufthansa (14th), Air France/KLM Group (15th) and British Airways, which was rated 16th. I feel extremely happy to see TAP being recognised among some of the biggest airlines in the world. I have had the pleasure of flying with TAP and I must say my experience was fantastic. This is proof that when you invest in quality and safety, you will be recognised for it. Congratulations TAP! Well done!
