Since 2009 focused on quality, customer service, transparency and ethical values.

History

Founded in 2009 by Cátia Cassiano and Inês Lopes Bridges, Updated Words started as a team of independent translators.

The team welcomed a third member in 2016, Margarida Sousa. An expert in Legal and Financial Translation, she added another layer of expertise to the team. Margarida left the team in 2017.

In 2019 co-funder Inês Lopes Bridges also left the team and today Updated Words is ran solely by its founder Cátia Cassiano.

From the very first day our mission has always been quality and customer service.

Always upholding the highest ethical standards is a requirement since day one. The right qualifications and great professional ethics is the key to Updated Words' business model.

Transparency and a deep knowledge of your needs allows you to be able to trust in the services provided and have a deep understanding of how your project will be completed and how much you will be charged for it.

Cátia Cassiano

I founded Updated Words and since day one I have been committed to this job and this industry.

Certified Translator

I was born in Lisbon, Portugal. In 2006, after finishing my qualifications, I moved to Sydney, where I founded Updated Words and started my professional career.

I am a NAATI Certified Translator from English to Portuguese (CPN1CX65R), a Chartered Linguist and Member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (MCIL CL 26759) and a Member of AUSIT (8104). I am a strong advocate for Association affiliation as a way to maintain the high standards and ethical values in the industry.

I specialise in Tourism and Aviation. I've worked with an airline for 8 years. My other field of expertise is documentation. I have been helping clients preparing their documents for the Portuguese Government.

I love helping clients achieve their goals. I believe in strong ethical values, transparency and customer service and I am committed to provide the best service in the market.

Mentor

In 2022, I started another chapter in my career, one that I have been dreaming of since I started. I have become a mentor and I am helping colleagues starting their careers with confidence and run their business efficiently.

I am a Mentor in the AUSIT Mentoring Program and I have also founded my School Updated Words Learning. There you can find courses that will help you start your business with confidence and be a successful entrepreneur.
