Qantas Group recognised internationally. According to Airline Ratings Qantas Group has won major awards for 2021. In the article, Airline Ratings refers to Qantas as the “world oldest continuously operating and most experienced airline”. It is no secret that the Flying Kangaroo has been well known for its excellence, safety and excellent pilot training.
Qantas
In 2021 our flagship carrier has taken 3 major awards. It has been rated 4th in the Airline Ratings top 20 ahead of airlines like Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, Lufthansa, KLM and Virgin Australia. According to Airline Ratings, to be part of their top 20 airlines, the airline must achieve a 7-star safety rating and demonstrate leadership in innovation for passenger comfort. Qantas took the spot because of its impeccable safety record and its financial performance during the pandemic.
Qantas was also awarded the Best Lounge Award and the Best Domestic Service. Its lounges are considered an industry benchmark, not only offering complimentary food and beverages but also including showers and the fastest internet. Its domestic service excels by offering beer on its weekday flights after 4 PM. Qantas distance itself from the competition, offering something more, whilst they offer less and less.
Qantas Link
Qantas Link is the airline’s regional arm. It operates 2000 weekly flights linking several metropolitan and regional areas around Australia. Qantas Link plays a major role in the transport of workers in industries like mining. In some ways, it become an important icon in those industries, flying workers in and out of their mines. Qantas Link was awarded the Best Regional Airline.
Jetstar
Qantas’s low-cost subsidiary has been awarded the Best Low-Cost Airline for Asia-Pacific Region. To be awarded the airlines must pass an International Air Transport Association Operational Safety Audit or present excellent safety and incident records.
This is great news for Qantas Group and for Australian aviation.
